Animal feed grade/nutrients/additives/minerals
Animal feed needs to meet the requirements of the animals (pig, cattle, horse, poultry, sheep, goat etc.). For all kind of animals it must contain dry matter, various groups of nutrients, minerals and trace elements.
Macro minerals:Calcium (Ca), Phosphorus (P), Potassium (K), Sodium (Na), Sulphur (S), Chlorine (Cl), Magnesium (Mg)
Micro or trace minerals:Iron (Fe), Iodine (I), Copper (Cu), Cobalt (Co), Fluorine (F), Manganese (Mn), Zinc (Zn), Molybdenum (Mo), Selenium (Se)
Magnesium is a cofactor in many enzyme systems including those involved in energy production.Magnesium is necessary for normal bone development and needed in proper functioning of the nervous system, carbohydrate metabolism and enzyme systems.
Sulfur is part of the essantial amino acids, methionine and cystine, which make up protein.Sulfur is more likely to be in excess, which can interfere with the metabolism of copper, resulting in a copper defiency.Sulfur is often added indirectly to the mineral mix through sulfate forms of the microminerals.
Copper (Cu) :
Copper is an important component of many enzyme systems essential for normal growth and development.Copper should be supplemented as copper sulfate, tribasic copper chloride or an organic complexed form because copper oxide is very poorly absorbed.
Zinc (Zn) :
Zinc (Zn) is a component of many enzymes and is important for immunity, male reproduction, and skin and hoof health.Zinc promotes growth and thriftiness.
